Course Outline

Our Clinical Observations and National Early Warning Score (NEWS) course will teach you essential clinical observation skills. You’ll learn to differentiate between ‘vital signs’, ‘subjective observations’, and ‘objective observations’. We’ll explore factors affecting blood pressure, and you’ll practice taking accurate pulse, blood pressure, and temperature readings.

Led by one of our experienced trainers, this course also covers conducting neurological observations and calculating the NEWS2 score. Finally, you’ll understand the importance of successful handovers and effective record-keeping to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
