Course Outline

Our Tracheostomy Care course equips you with essential tracheostomy care skills. You’ll learn the basics of relevant anatomy and physiology, identify indications and complications of tracheostomy, and understand different types of tubes. We will cover correct suctioning techniques, when to inflate or deflate the cuff, and how to clean and change a tracheostomy tube.

Led by one of our experienced trainers, you will also explore person-centred approaches, communication techniques, and how to identify when emergency care is required, ensuring you can provide safe and compassionate care to the people you support.
